Ms. Troutman

Hello,

my name is...

Ms. Troutman

Welcome to our first grade class!

I am so excited to have your child in my class this year! Students make so much growth in first grade, and it's exciting to see all those "light bulb moments" when they begin making connections. We will all be learning and growing together this year, and I appreciate your support of your child's education.

To let you know a little about me, I grew up in Greensboro, and later graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. Over the next five years, I worked in corporate communications in Charlotte, and later was a reporter, and then copy editor, at a local newspaper. Even though I enjoyed my time in the communications field, I felt I wanted to do something more - something that would really make a difference.

So in 2002, I began working at Forest Park as an assistant in Kindergarten and later in first grade, as I went back to school at UNC-Charlotte to earn my graduate teaching certification. I live in Kannapolis with my "furry children”, Emmet and Gracie, both of which are rescues.

Please contact me by email, phone (704) 932-8121 x 52319, or by sending a note in your child's green folder, if you ever have any questions or concerns. I believe in open communication between parents, students, and the teacher, to make this year the best one possible!
